Josef Kautzner, MD, PhD

Josef Kautzner (*1957) is a graduate of the Charles University Medical School I in Prague (1983), trained in internal medicine and cardiology in Charles University General Hospital, Prague and abroad (St George´s Hospital Medical School in London, UK, and Texas Heart Institute in Houston, USA). He is Director of Department of Cardiology at Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague (since 2001), and Professor of Medicine at Charles University Medical School I in Prague (since 2005). Internationally recognized as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, and past member of Boards of the European Society of Cardiology and European Heart Rhythm Association, and a member of Heart Rhythm Society. A regular faculty member of many international meetings, busy reviewer for major cardiology journals and author or co-author of many publications. The organizer and coordinator of a broad spectrum of educational activities such as practical workshops, educational lectures, proctor sessions and development of other educational materials.
