Steven Lubitz, MD

Dr. Steven Lubitz is a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Associate Member at the Broad Institute. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and trained in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He subsequently earned a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard University School of Public Health before completing clinical electrophysiology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He currently co-directs the Cardiovascular Genetics Program at the Massachusetts General Hospital. The overall objectives of his research are to identify the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and improve treatments for patients with or at risk for these conditions. Dr. Lubitz’ research efforts span disciplines including human genetics, risk stratification, and clinical trials. Dr. Lubitz works with a highly collaborative team of investigators with expertise in population, clinical, mobile technology, and translational science research. Dr. Lubitz’ research efforts have been funded by the NIH, American Heart Association, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and several sponsored research collaborations with industry partners.
